The Weekend Is Almost Over

I love Sunday. I wouldn’t say I like Sunday nights.

No, Sunday night is when the stress of the week starts building. I check my schedule after having my work phone turned off all weekend.

I would be better if our scheduler would work properly but it scatters hours all over the week.

This is when Plan A begins to form in my mind. Being, unfortunately, by myself makes it easier to stick with and tweak my plan as the days roll on.

With no one to train or watch this week, my Friday will be pretty easy except for the travel.

Sunday mornings are usually leisurely sitting in my recliner and sipping coffee. Sometimes I have company.

She likes the smell of coffee. She may even admit to loving me.

Our only commitment being church at 10:30 the rest of the day is oursβ€”usually laundry day or finishing off laundry.

I spend it reading it or messing around with some project.

For now, it’s almost time to lay down.

Monday is inevitable.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Just Two Old Fellas

We’re just two old fellas winding down from the day, enjoying a little TV. Catching up on NCIS.

I’m off tomorrow so we can hang out while I clean house and take care of some projects.

Lots of things happening here and lots of money being invested in our home by us. You have to take care of what you can and improve on things when you can.

That’s it. That’s the post.

We’ve had a busy weekend with the kids, the house, groceries, etc. So much so that me and Sam forgot to plan anything to talk about on the podcast. So we made a new rule.

No prep, no podcast.

We are still having a problem with our sound anyway and that’s my department. I need to figure out how to properly set the mixer so that we don’t have the buzzes and clicks we are experiencing. It’s annoying for me to hear it and I know that I don’t enjoy it when listening to a podcast. One of my simple pleasures is listening to podcasts that are not only informative and entertaining, but also produced well. We are aiming for that after we get through some growing pains.

I think we have a good flow and the back and forth is there. He’s a funny little guy and we enjoy spending that time together.

We had thought about doing thirty minutes on SCPs (Secure, Contain, Protect). These are podcast and YouTube videos about creepypasta characters and things that cross over into our world. One of the podcasts I’ve been enjoying on the subject is SCP Archives from Bloody Disgusting. The sound, sound effects and acting are fantastic. I really get drawn into the stories and a bit creeped out here and there. So worth the listen.

The wife has suggested that we do some episodes on stuff we really know like spots in the Smokey Mountains that we have visited such as The Road To Nowhere and Cades Cove. Both of those spots have several ghost stories and plenty of history to talk about. We spend a great deal of time on the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the cities around it. There are plenty of stories to tell. She ain’t wrong.

Anyway, that’s enough of that. We are looking for the next couple of couches to grace our living room. The ones we have now are about eight or ten years old. Time for something new. Shopping for furniture can be a big part of that for better or worse part of the marriage compact. It is frustrating. We are also trying to find a fabric that Fibble, the younger cat, won’t find appealing. She likes to claw. Furniture isn’t you scratching post, cat. I know you’re reading this over my shoulder on the back of the recliner right now.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Early Days

I have to be out the door in a few short hours. We have an early reset at 5AM. We could do these during normal hours but where’s the fun in that?

That loaf of meat is my cat. That’s my side of the bed.

He’ll take over soon as I leave.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Serious Business

This is very relaxing for both of us. He gets the head scratch, I get a chest rub. We’re both pretty good at our ends of the bargain.

Until he passes out. And then if you’re a cat owner you know.

I can’t move. I might wake him.

I live on the couch now.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Pure Friendship

Geisel is the old man of the house but has been friends with Sam since we brought him home. He doesn’t like people getting in his face but will bump noses with Sam. He actually loves the boy.

That’s it. That’s the post.
