We’ve always attended an annual Comicon here in the South. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. Like anything else of such magnitude, it has had fantastic years and not-so-great years. Some have been downright abysmal. I mean, genuinely not worth the money spent for admission.
But still, we attended every year.
We’ve met so many great people over the years. We’ve even seen Stan Lee though we wouldn’t pay $75 to get a meet and greet and autograph. But we’ve been close enough to say hi and have him look us in the eye and acknowledge us. We met his wife the same year. My wife talked with her a bit. Nice lady.
It’s always a thrill watching the cosplayers and talking to the artists. I get a lot of great photos. We puck up a bit of gear. Lanyards, mugs, shirts.
It’s always good fun and a good time with our kids.
Until this year.
As a friend said when I was messaging him today, conform or be ostracized.
And this move will lead to be never attending one of their events again.
They have every right to put this requirement in place.
I have every right not to comply and not attend.
It has come to my door.
That’s it. That’s the post.
