Kolchak
Long before there was an X-Files, long before there was a Mulder or a Scully, there was the original Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

The original series is on YouTube and other places here and there but today as I was working and setting a couple of mods (my company does that for Walmart) I looked down and saw the label for the series today. Iβve never been so excited to get the job done. $16 and tax later and this one is mine.
If youβve never seen it:
Carl Kolchak was a reporter for Chicago’s Independent News Service, and a trouble magnet for situations involving the supernatural. Kolchak turned his investigative skills to vampires, werewolves, zombies and all manner of legendary creatures, but in the end he always failed to convince his skeptical editor, Tony Vincenzo, that the stories weren’t products of Kolchak’s own overworked imagination. (This is a write up on IMDB by Meg Baskin)
I was introduced to this series by my mom who used to let me stay up late on Friday or Saturday nights to catch this late night showing on CBS. Way back when we only had four channels and PBS. I miss those days.
My kids arenβt overly thrilled at the prospect of the series but they both agree that Iβve never steered them wrong on good TV.
I canβt wait. The Ripper, The Zombie, Chopper, ALL OF THEM.
I know itβs not up to todayβs standards for horror but the suspense and writing of these stories are fantastic to me. And yes, Iβve watched them again here and there, but Mulder, Scully, theyβre amateurs compared to Kolchak.
I may write these up as we go and get the kids reactions.
